Three global banks to participate in restructuring NSB
There are ongoing negotiations with three international banks to fund the restructuring of the state-owned specialised bank Nasser Social Bank (NSB) over the coming years, according to NSB’s Vice Chairman Mohamed Shoman. Shoman said that the global financial institutions have received all data about the bank and its activities, as well as its restructuring plan. The amount of funding has not been decided yet. In a previous interview with Al Mal, Shoman said that, with the financial support of a global bank, it would take three years to restructure NSB. Shoman further stated that NSB has gone a long way in its restructuring programme that includes branches revamp, human resources investments and the set-up of a strong IT system. Shoman announced earlier that EGP200mn have been pumped to boost NSB’s capital to EGP2bn in 2015 from EGP1.8bn. (Al Mal)
