Three Chinese banks – China Development Bank (CDB), the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and China EXIM Bank – are considering a USD2bn syndicated loan for the New Administrative Capital, according to Bian Shiyuan, Chief Representative at the CDB Cairo Office. “The fund will support the construction of the Central Business District of the New Administrative Capital, and this project is in the appraisal process,” Shiyuan said, noting that the total amount of funds by the three Chinese banks is expected to be equally shared. He also added that the agreement could be signed later this year.
