The Public Authority for Housing Welfare invites firms for South Al-Mutlaa road project
The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has invited firms to bid for the construction and maintenance of roads and infrastructure at the planned USD2.3 billion South Al-Mutlaa development project, setting 7 February as the deadline for the submission of the bids. The firms which were prequalified to bid for the contract include: i) China Railway International Group; ii) China State Construction Engineering Corporation; iii) Salini Impregilo (Italy)/Kolin (Turkey); iv) China Railway 18th Bureau Group; v) China Tiesiju Civil Engineering; vi) China Camc Engineering Company; and vii) Sinohydro Corporation. The South Al-Mutlaa city will be spread over a 104 square-kilometre land area in the Jahra governorate, west of Kuwait City. When completed in 2019, the city will include 30,000 housing units, with expected population of 400,000. (MEED)
