Telecom regulator sets guidelines for service bundling as Telecom Egypt prepares to enter mobile market

The National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has set guidelines for service bundling as Telecom Egypt (TE) [ETEL.CA] prepares to enter the mobile market, according to an unnamed source. The new guidelines state that all operators have the right to bundle their services as long as it does not have a negative impact on competitors and customers. Moreover, revenues from the bundled service have to cover all costs associated with offering the service. NTRA will require from TE to strictly abide by the guidelines so as to avoid anti-competitive behaviours.
