Telecom regulator looking into bundling unwanted 4G spectrum and offering it in an international bid
The National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) is looking into bundling the unwanted 4G spectrum, which had been offered to the local mobile network operators (MNOs) and offering it in an international bid, according to an unnamed source. Local MNOs would be allowed to bid for the bundled spectrum and international operators as well, the source added. NTRA board is expected to convene on 12 October to decide whether to offer the spectrum in an international bid or offer part of it to Telecom Egypt (TE) [ETEL.CA].
