Telecom regulator forms committee to decide on fate of unwanted 4G spectra
The National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has formed a specialised committee to decide on the fate of the remaining 4G spectra, which had been rejected by the mobile network operators (MNOs), according to a high-ranking source at NTRA. The committee is expected to announce a final decision in the NTRA’s board meeting on 12 October. NTRA is considering either selling the spectra to Telecom Egypt (TE) [ETEL.CA] or offering it in an international bid. (Al Borsa) Telecom Egypt: EGP8.76 as of 09 October 2016, Rating: Neutral, FV: EGP10.25 per share, MCap: USD1,684mn, ETEL EY / ETEL.CA
