Telecom regulator approves final 4G licence terms; deadline for operators extended until 22 September
The National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has approved the final 4G licence terms and will send it to operators early next Sunday, according to a high-ranking source at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). Operators will be given until 22 September 2016 to send their approvals to NTRA. The government will offer additional 4G spectrum, but will not give up on the 50% USD tranche payment of the licence cost, the source added.
