In an interview with Argaam, Tasnee’s Executive Finance VP Fawaz Al Fawaz stated that the company is in discussions with a new strategic investor to buy Cristal's Ashtabula Tio2 production Complex in the US. Al Fawaz highlighted that this move should help the proposed Tronox- Cristal deal to pass through the regulatory authorities. It is worth noting that the company was planning earlier to sell the Ashtabula complex in a deal with Venator (was estimated at USD1.1bn); however, US FTC blocked it for considering the deal as anti-competitive.
