Tasnee announces commercial startup of titanium sponge plant
Tasnee announced the start of commercial production at its titanium sponge at Yanbu as of 18 September. The plant has a capacity of 15.6ktpa and is considered to be one of Tasnee’s major downstream projects, along with the Ilmenite Smelter. The company is still determining the financial impact of the operation’s startup. Note that the project is owned by Advanced Metal Industries (AMIC), which is 50% owned by Tasnee.
