Saudi Telecom Company’s (STC) [7010.SE] is still interested in acquiring a 4G licence in Egypt, as the company’s CEO, Khaled Biyari has been discussing the said issue with the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Yasser AL Kady. The company had announced its interest earlier, along with China Telecom and Zain Group [ZAIN KW], but has not made an official request yet. However, Al Kady emphasised that foreign operators would be allowed to bid for the licence if one of the local operators backed off.
