Siemens offers to invest EUR10 billion in establishing renewable energy plants with 10,000 MW capacity
Siemens made an offer to the Ministry of Electricity to build renewable energy plants worth EUR10 billion of investments and expected to generate 10,000 MW of electricity. According to Mohamed Salah Elsobky, Head of the New and Renewable Energy Authority, the project will be financed on a “EPC+Finance” basis and is currently being studied by a specialised committee. -Siemens previously reached an agreement with the Egyptian government to install wind power capacity of 2,000 MW worth EUR2 billion of investments, as well as a EUR100 million factory to manufacture rotor blades for wind turbines.
