SFD-Egypt in talks with World Bank for USD400 million financing
Egypt’s Social Fund for Development (SFD) is currently negotiating with the World Bank Group over two loans totalling USD400 million, the fund’s secretary-general Soha Soliman said on Tuesday. The first loan would be valued at USD200 million, dedicated to financing small projects in Egypt. The second loan is also worth USD200 million and would be utilised to finance Egyptian infrastructure projects. Moreover, the Egyptian fund is in the process of activating the European Investment Bank’s EUR45 million (USD51.3 million) contract soon, Soliman added. (Amwal Al Ghad)
