Saudia to add 25 new aircraft to its fleet by end-2016
Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) announced that it would add 25 new aircraft to its fleet by year-end, which will include both Airbus and Boeing planes. It is scheduled to receive the first of 20 new regional Airbus A330 next Thursday, making it the world’s first airline operator for this type of aircraft, in addition to a further 30 A320 aircrafts and a total of 50 aircraft purchased from Airbus, which are to be fully received before end of 2018. The new aircraft will add to Saudia’s capacity to keep up with the increase in passenger traffic, especially internal flights, which constitute two-thirds of the airline’s operations. Saudia plans to increase its fleet to reach 200 aircrafts by 2020. (Argaam)
