Saudi Kayan to shut down plants for debottlenecking/maintenance in 2H17
Saudi Kayan has announced that it intends to shut down some of its plants for debottlenecking and scheduled maintenance activities during 2H17. The company will shut down the olefins plant for 41 days to complete the debottlenecking project, which will increase the plant’s capacity by 93 K tonnes of ethylene per annum. The company will also shut down the ethylene oxide and ethylene glycol plants for 46 days, to commence another debottlenecking project, which is expected to add 61 k tonnes of ethylene oxide per annum. The polycarbonate plant, phenolic plant, and amine plant will also be shut for 56 days, 31 days and 53 days respectively due to the stoppage of the other plants. (Argaam)
