Saudi Aramco awards major gas pipeline work to Saudi KAD
State-owned Saudi Aramco awarded a contract to Saudi KAD to engineer, procure, construct and commission a gas pipeline network totaling 1,118 km in length, according to a statement by Saudi KAD. The contract is reportedly worth cSAR5bn (USD1.33bn), though the statement did not provide any value. The project is part of the Master Gas System 2 (MGS 2) and the Fadhili gas programme which aim to raise the capacity of the kingdom's main gas pipeline to 12.5bn cfd by 2018 from 8.4bn cfd currently.
