Saudi Arabia is looking to privatise all its airports this year, according to Head of the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA). The privatisation will be implemented via three methods; either transferring an airport into a company (like King Khaled International Airport), establishing an operations and maintenance project and sharing the income with investors (similar to what happened at King Abdul Aziz International Airport), or via build, operate and transfer (BOT) system (like Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Airport). GACA will spin off a holding company that will be given responsibility of the operational aspect of the airports.
