Saudi Arabia posts SAR48.9bn budget deficit in 9M18
Saudi Arabia reported a budget deficit of SAR48.98bn in 9M18 vs. SAR121.5bn in 9M17; a 60% Y-o-Y decline. Revenues stood at SAR663.11bn, while expenses reached SAR712.09bn, the Finance Ministry said Wednesday. The Kingdom’s public debt rose to SAR549.52bn in 9M18 vs. SAR443.25bn at the end of 2017. The 3Q18 revenue jumped 57% Y-o-Y to SAR223.26bn. Total expenses stood at SAR230.55bn, up 21% Y-o-Y, so that the budget deficit hit SAR7.29bn in 3Q18. Non-oil revenue reached SAR69.3bn, while oil revenue rose by 63% to reach SAR153.95bn in 3Q18.
