Saudi Arabia invites bids for first technical consultancy for first major batch of renewable projects
Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has started the procurement process for the country’s first three major standalone renewables projects. The company has invited consultants to submit bids for the technical consultancy role for the projects, setting 31 January as the initial deadline for the submission of the bids. Three renewables projects will be covered under the agreement, namely, two 30-50 MW photovoltaic (PV) solar projects in Rafna and Al-Jouf, and a 10-50 MW wind project in Umiju. The projects will be procured using the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model. The consultancy role will include assisting the company with the processes of the prequalification of bidders, evaluation of bids and the award of contracts. (MEED)
