Sadara announces completion of performance tests for its butanol plant; plant is ready for commercial operations
Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara) has announced that the performance tests of its butanol plant, owned by its joint venture Saudi Butanol Company (SABUCO), have concluded and that the plant is ready to commence commercial operations. According to the announcement, SABUCO is owned by Sadara, Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company (2350.SE), and Saudi Acrylic Acid Company (SAAC) with each holding a 33% stake. Note that SAAC is 52.3%-owned by National Industrialization Company (Tasnee) [2060.SE] and 43.2%-owned by Sahara Petrochemical Company (Sahara) [2260.SE]. The butanol plant has a nameplate capacity of 330,000 tonnes per year (tpy). (Tadawul)
