A Russian delegation, headed by Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, is due to visit Egypt to resume discussions over direct flights between the two counties, according to the Vice Chairman of the Russian Parliament. The visit is expected to boost Russian-Egyptian relations, especially on counterterrorism and security issues, the Russian official said. Earlier this year, Russia’s Minister of Transport, Maxim Sokolov, said Russian flights to Egyptian Red Sea resort cities would resume in the "near future.” (Al Ahram)
