Russia to make airport security inspection in Hurghada, Sharm El-Sheikh on 28 August
A Russian delegation of experts will make an inspection of airport security in Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh on 28 August. The team will then meet with Egyptian government officials in Cairo for discussions on the matter. The Russian government will, accordingly, decide when to resume tourism to the Red Sea. Russia had enforced a travel ban on its citizens after a MetroJet flight had crashed in Sinai Penninsula shortly after takeoff from Sharm el-Sheikh airport on 31 October last year, killing all on board, mostly Russians.
