Russia says ban on fruits and vegetables imports not in response to Egypt’s wheat policy
Russia's decision to suspend imports of fruit and vegetables from Egypt is not a counter-measure against Egypt’s rejection of Russia's wheat, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said. Russia had announced earlier this week plans to temporarily suspend imports of fruit and vegetables from Egypt starting on 22 September after Egyptian quarantine inspectors rejected a 60,000-tonne Russian wheat shipment due to finding trace levels of ergot fungus.
