Revised Banking Act not expected to be ready before 4Q18
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) will not present its revised Banking Act to the Cabinet before 4Q18, according to an unnamed source familiar with the matter. CBE Governor Tarek Amer said earlier that the revised Banking Act was planned to be presented to the government for discussion by 1 June, but the delay came as CBE is still engaged in consultations with international institutions to help shape the law.
