REIDIN March 2016: Overall good month for Dubai real estate prices
REIDIN released its Dubai and Abu Dhabi Residential Property Price Indices for March 2016. In Dubai, the general index covering all sold residential units increased by 0.8% M-o-M, but down 8.0% Y-o-Y (-1.7% M-o-M, -10.0% Y-o-Y in February), with apartment sales prices registering an increase of 0.7% M-o-M and went down 7.4% Y-o-Y (-1.8% M-o-M, -9.6% Y-o-Y in February), and sales prices for villas increasing by 1.2% Y-o-Y, but down 10.3% Y-o-Y (-1.2% M-o-M, -11.5% Y-o-Y in February). As for the rental market, rates inched up 0.3% M-o-M, but were down 4.9% Y-o-Y (-0.9% M-o-M, -5.4% Y-o-Y in February), with apartment rental prices inching up 0.5% M-o-M and down 4.7% Y-o-Y (-1.2% M-o-M, -5.4% Y-o-Y in February), while rental prices for villas went down 0.7% M-o-M and 6.1% Y-o-Y (+0.3% M-o-M, -5.7% Y-o-Y in February). In Abu Dhabi, the general index for all sold residential units inched down 0.2% M-o-M but went up by 0.9% Y-o-Y (-0.3% M-o-M, +0.6% Y-o-Y in February), with apartment sales prices roughly unchanged M-o-M and down 1.3% Y-o-Y (-0.3% M-o-M, 1.9% Y-o-Y in February), and sales prices for villas went down 1.1% M-o-M but up 2.9% Y-o-Y (-0.4% M-o-M, +3.5% Y-o-Y in February). As for the rental market, prices drop 0.1% M-o-M, up 1.6% Y-o-Y (+1.7% M-o-M, +0.9% Y-o-Y in February), with apartment rental prices down 0.1% but up 1.1% Y-o-Y (+2.1% M-o-M, +0.7% Y-o-Y in February), and rental prices for villas down 0.1% M-o-M, but were up 2.7% Y-o-Y (+1.0% M-o-M, +1.7% Y-o-Y in February).
