REIDIN June 2016: M-o-M movements in Dubai, Abu Dhabi indices mostly stable or up

REIDIN released its Dubai and Abu Dhabi Residential Property Price Indices for June 2016. In Dubai, the general index covering all sold residential units rose 0.3% M-o-M but dropped by 3.8% Y-o-Y (+1.0% M-o-M, -5.3% Y-o-Y in May), with apartment sales prices registering an 0.4% rise M-o-M and a 3.8% drop Y-o-Y (+1.1% M-o-M, -5.2% Y-o-Y in May), with sales prices for villas inching up 0.1% Y-o-Y and going down by 4.2% Y-o-Y (+0.6% M-o-M, -6.0% Y-o-Y in May). As for the rental market, rates went down 0.5% M-o-M and 3.6% Y-o-Y (+0.3% M-o-M, -3.6% Y-o-Y in May), with apartment rental prices down 0.5% M-o-M and 3.2% Y-o-Y (+0.5% M-o-M, -3.0% Y-o-Y in May), while rental prices for villas went down 0.7% M-o-M and 5.8% Y-o-Y (-0.5% M-o-M, -6.4% Y-o-Y in May).   In Abu Dhabi, the general index for all sold residential units was unchanged M-o-M and up 1.1% Y-o-Y (-0.2% M-o-M, +1.3% Y-o-Y in May), with apartment sales prices dropping 0.1% M-o-M and 0.4% Y-o-Y (-0.3% M-o-M, -0.7% Y-o-Y in May), and sales prices for villas up 0.1% M-o-M and 2.3% Y-o-Y (+0.3% M-o-M, +3.2% Y-o-Y in May). As for the rental market, prices went down by 0.6% M-o-M and 1.1% Y-o-Y (-0.7% M-o-M, -1.5% Y-o-Y in May), with apartment rental prices dropping 0.8% M-o-M and 2.4% Y-o-Y (-0.9% M-o-M, -2.2% Y-o-Y in May), and rental prices for villas unchanged Y-o-Y and up 1.4% Y-o-Y (-0.2% M-o-M, -0.1% Y-o-Y in May).
