REIDIN April 2016: Overall good month for Dubai real estate prices       

REIDIN released its Dubai and Abu Dhabi Residential Property Price Indices for April 2016. In Dubai, the general index covering all sold residential units dropped by 0.5% M-o-M and 7.5% Y-o-Y (+0.8% M-o-M, -8.0% Y-o-Y in March), with apartment sales prices registering an 0.8% drop M-o-M and 7.3% Y-o-Y (+0.7% M-o-M, -7.4% Y-o-Y in March), and sales prices for villas increasing by 0.4% M-o-M and decreasing by 8.2% Y-o-Y (+1.2% M-o-M, -10.3% Y-o-Y in March). As for the rental market, rates inched up by 0.1% M-o-M but decreased by 4.2% Y-o-Y (+0.3% M-o-M, -4.9% Y-o-Y in March), with apartment rental prices inching up 0.1% but decreasing 3.9% Y-o-Y (+0.5% M-o-M, -4.7% Y-o-Y in March), while rental prices for villas went down 0.5% M-o-M and 6.3% Y-o-Y (-0.7% M-o-M, -6.1% Y-o-Y in March).   In Abu Dhabi, the general index for all sold residential units dropped by 0.7% but increased by 1.3% Y-o-Y (-0.2% M-o-M, +0.9% Y-o-Y in March), with apartment sales prices dropping 0.6% M-o-M and 0.8% Y-o-Y (roughly unchanged M-o-M, -1.3% Y-o-Y in March), and sales prices for villas went down by 1.1% M-o-M but increased by 3.0% Y-o-Y (-1.1% M-o-M, +2.9% Y-o-Y in March). As for the rental market, prices dropped 0.1% M-o-M and 0.4% Y-o-Y (-0.1% M-o-M, +1.6% Y-o-Y in March), with apartment rental prices down 0.1% M-o-M and 1.2% Y-o-Y (-0.1% M-o-M, +1.1% Y-o-Y in March), and rental prices for villas roughly unchanged M-o-M and up 1.0% Y-o-Y (-0.1% M-o-M, +2.7% Y-o-Y in March).
