Prime Minister calls for opening letters of credit directly from the CBE for pharmaceutical imports
Egypt’s Prime Minister Sherif Ismael is asking the CBE to swiftly open letter of credit of pharmaceutical imports, especially life-saving drugs. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance is considering lifting tariffs on pharmaceuticals active ingredients, and the Ministry of Health had promised pharmaceutical firms that it would reconsider raising prices in January 2017.
