Pfizer expects Egyptian pharmaceutical revenues to grow 14% on investments inflow and comprehensive health insurance bill
Pfizer expects the local pharmaceutical industry to grow 14% in 2016 to reach EGP34.6 billion, according to Ashraf El Khouly Public Affairs/Communication Director at Pfizer. Egypt’s pharmaceutical market’s revenue has grown at an average of 12-14% per year in recent years, despite the registration and pricing obstacles. The market should witness a flow of investments in 2016 as the government is nearing a sign-off on the comprehensive health insurance bill, which should support the market’s growth, Ashraf Added. The market grew 11% to EGP30.4 billion in 2015, according to preliminary data by the IMS Institute. (Al Borsa)
