Petrorabigh reports losses of SAR1.0 billion in 4Q2015 on complex shutdown
Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Company (Petrorabigh)[2380.SE] announced its 4Q2015 financial results showing a SAR1.00 billion loss compared to a SAR460 million loss in 3Q2015 and losses of SAR198 million in 4Q2014. Gross losses for the period came in at SAR772 million compared to a gross loss of SAR250 million in 3Q2015 and a positive gross profit level of SAR48 million in 4Q2014. Petroabigh also reported losses on the operating level of SAR1.01 billion versus operating losses of SAR463 million in 3Q2015 and losses of SAR181 million in 4Q2014. The company attributed the increase in losses on a quarterly and annual basis to the shutdown of its entire complex during 4Q2015. It is worth noting that the company had initially expected the shutdown to have a financial impact of SAR900 million, while further delays in the shutdown are estimated to have cost the company another SAR200 million.
