Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Company (Petro Rabigh) [2380.SE] has announced the latest developments of Rabigh phase II project that included the following: i) partial completion of the electrical and non-electrical utilities; ii) completion of support services buildings; and iii) commencement of operation in the ethane cracker, cumene and phenol units. The company also announced that the construction schedule for the remaining units had been pushed back to 2Q17. The delays occurred due to some challenges in the construction market, and they also noted that the project’s cost would increase to SAR34bn, an increase of SAR3bn from the previously-announced cost.
