Parliament invites companies, industry associates to VAT hearing session
Parliament’s Planning and Budget Committee has invited representatives of 54 companies and industry associations to attend a hearing today on objections to the Value-Added Tax (VAT) law. The hearing will focus on two measures: the EGP500k mandatory floor to register for the tax and the 14% baseline tax rate, which the business community objects, believing that the latter is too high.
