Parliament asks Finance Ministry for IMF agreement details
The Parliament Economic Committee has asked the Ministry of Finance to present the USD12bn agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and has not received a response, according to the Committee President Ali Meselhy. The committee will take action in this regard, Meselhy said without providing details. Meanwhile, the government has approved publishing the letter of intent as agreed with the IMF, to be disclosed soon. The deal was signed on 11 November, and the first USD2.75bn tranche has already being disbursed. (Al Mal)
