The official opening of the Abu Dhabi branch of Louvre museum has been postponed to 2017 due to pending construction work. The local Louvre was originally scheduled to open in 2012 but the target was pushed back to 2H16. The Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) was scheduled to hand over the USD650mn museum to Abu Dhabi’s Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA) in mid-2016. The Zayed Museum was scheduled to open this year and the Guggenheim in 2017, but contracts are yet to be awarded for them. (Reuters)
