Omani citizens over the age of 18 who earn OMR600 or less a month will get 200 litres of subsidised fuel every month, the government has announced. Starting in January, the fuel subsidy scheme is part of a government social security safety net plan for citizens adversely affected by the removal of fuel subsidies. The government last night called on all eligible Omanis to register as soon as possible, as the new system will start in January, 2018.
