Oman's total oil production increased 2.9 % in the first nine months of 2016 to 274.89mn barrels from RO267mn barrels in the corresponding period of last year. Daily oil production averaged 1mn barrels per day (bpd) in the first nine months this year compared with 978,200 bpd in the same period of 2015, according to statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI). The country's oil exports rose 3.8 % to 241.4mn barrels during the January-September period of 2016 against 232.5mn barrels a year earlier. Oman's crude exports to Japan, South Korea, India and Singapore recorded significant increases during the period, while exports to China, Thailand and Taiwan declined. (Muscat Daily)
