Orascom Construction (OC) announced that it had added USD575mn in net awards in the US during 3Q16, through its wholly-owned units, Contrack Watts and Weitz. Management stated that work secured was a combination of new infrastructure work, mainly in the Pacific Rim. Assuming no meaningful new awards from the MENA region (in light of a weak bidding in Egypt in 3Q, according to numbers from MEED, and in the absence of other announcements from the company regarding further award wins during the quarter), we estimate new awards to have totaled cUSD3.3bn in 9M16 (-28.1% vs. 9M15; 2016e: USD3.6bn, -26.2% Y-o-Y).
