NREA to sign EUR180mn financing agreements for Siemens wind energy project
The New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) will sign EUR180mn financing agreements with local and international banks in two weeks for the establishment of phase one of the wind power project undertaken by Siemens. A meeting will be held between the representatives of the Central Bank of Egypt, NREA, Siemens and lenders to sign the agreements by end of this month. The total project will have a capacity of 2,000MW at a total investment cost of EUR2bn. Siemens will also establish a production plant for the blades at an investment cost of EUR100mn with a capacity of 300 blades/annum. (Al Borsa)
