NBK plans to syndicate part of KWD600 million loan to KNPC
National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) plans to sell down to other banks part of the KWD600 million (USD1.99 billion) it is contributing to Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC)'s Clean Fuels project loan, it said in a statement on Thursday. NBK and Kuwait Finance House (KFH) are lead-arrangers of the first tranche of the funding, which includes a ten-year KWD900 million loan. KFH will contribute KWD300 million to the loan. Part of the country's KWD30 billion economic development plan, the Clean Fuels project will upgrade and expand two of the country's largest existing refineries with a focus on producing higher-value products such as diesel and kerosene for export.
