NBE postpones international bond issuance, to reconsider in 2H17
The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) decided to postpone the international bond issuance on lack of need, an official at the bank said. The bank is currently considering the best timing of the issuance, with a possibility of it taking place in 2H17, according to the source. Presence in the international bond market is a core strategy for the bank, the source added, but, in the meantime, it will depend on bilateral agreements with international institutions to diversify sources of foreign currency liquidity. The bank was set to tap the international bond market following the government Euro bond issuance. (Al Mal)
