The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has financed cUSD5bn worth of imports since the pound was floated in November, Deputy Chairman Yehia Aboul Fotouh said on Thursday, adding that the bank has no suspended import operations. "The bank collected c2.8bn given up by individuals from the liberalization of the exchange rate until now," he said. (Reuters)
