NBAD looks to finance and facilitate USD10 billion in environmental projects
National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) announced that it will finance and facilitate USD10 billion in green projects over the next decade. The funds will be focused on projects in the area stretching from West Africa to East Asia. NBAD believes that there is a funding gap amounting to USD48 trillion over the next 20 years to meet global energy demand. CEO Alex Thursby said that even in the current environment of low oil prices, the transition towards more renewable sources in the energy mix will continue because the underlying drivers are long term and strong.
