Municipal Affairs Ministry delays new contractor classification system
The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs postponed the new contractor category system, originally planned in July, Al Yaum newspaper reported, citing the Chairman of the Saudi Contractors Authority’s (SCA) as saying. The authority is currently cooperating with a consultant on setting up categorisation and evaluation systems for private sector contractors, as the new system does not cover them or the sector’s sub-contractors. The new system only covers the public contracting firms that amount to 3,700 companies.
