Mobile operators refuse to sign national roaming agreements with Telecom Egypt; NTRA to decide on the fate of the unwanted 4G spectra tomorrow
Mobile network operators (MNOs) have refused to sign the previously-announced national roaming agreement with Telecom Egypt (TE) [ETEL.CA], according to unnamed sources. The national roaming agreement would allow TE to offer 2G and 3G services, virtually, through the MNOs’ networks. In related news, the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) is set to decide on the fate of the unwanted 4G spectra, which had been offered to MNOs earlier, tomorrow. NTRA is considering offering the spectra either to TE or in an international tender.
