MNOs submit their suggestions on the 4G licence to the MCIT
The three mobile network operators (MNOs) have submitted suggestions to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) on the required guidelines to abide by when it comes to fair competition between them and Telecom Egypt (TE) [ETEL.CA] prior to the 4G licence issuance. According to Al Borsa, Orange Egypt and Vodafone Egypt (VFE) requested the re-pricing of the international gateway licence cost, which had been offered to them earlier at EGP3.3bn and EGP3.9bn respectively. Moreover, the MNOs also requested the right to rollout their own fibre optic cable network. The MNOs suggested the formation of a consortium, including representatives from the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and the MNOs to end all the pending disputes between them and TE. (Al Borsa) Telecom Egypt: EGP9.06 as of 7 June 2016, Rating: Buy, FV: EGP12.21/share, MCap: USD1,742mn, ETEL EY / ETEL.CA
