The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) will provide mobile network operators (MNOs) with 4G spectrum in April 2017, Al Borsa quoted anonymous sources as saying. The spectrum will be delivered based on a schedule that has been set with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA). On a related note, MNOs are working towards being ready to launch 4G services as soon as the spectrum is received, while NTRA is monitoring negotiations between MNOs regarding national roaming and interconnection agreements and stands ready to intervene with imposed prices in case no agreement is reached between MNOs on time, Al Alam Al Youm wrote.
