Ministry of Health to establish six new hospitals in Upper Egypt in 2018
The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) is looking to establish six new hospitals in Upper Egypt in 2018: three in Luxor, two in Al Minya and one in Asyut. In addition, 42 hospitals are expected to be further inaugurated in eight governorates in Upper Egypt. Last year, 19 new hospitals were opened at a total investment of EGP2.3bn. According to Health Minister Ahmed Emad Eldin, nine hospitals in Upper Egypt were developed since 2015 at a cost of EGP2.4bn, which constituted 38% of the ministry’s budget for hospital development.
