Ministry of Health planning to increase Saudisation in the healthcare sector

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has outlined plans to nationalise various parts of the healthcare sector, aiming at employing 100,000 Saudi nationals by 2030, in accordance with Saudi 2030 vision, according to Arab News. Earlier last week, local reports said the country’s Ministry of Labor and Social development had formed a joint committee with the MoH to develop a Saudisation plan. A MoH report, cited by the publication, mentioned that of the c.50k medical professionals who work for the Ministry in the Kingdom, 29% were Saudi nationals, whereas assistant medical categories 93% were national. However, of the total c82k medical professionals working in the country, less than a quarter were Saudi nationals, according to the report. (Gulf news, Arab news)
