Minister of CIT announces Egypt’s 2025 telecommunications strategy
Egypt’s 2025 telecommunications strategy aims to increase telecoms contribution to GDP from 3.5% to 8%, and Egypt’s technology exports to EGP20bn from EGP3.5bn by 2025, Al Alam Al Youm quoted Communications and Information Technology (CIT) Minister Yasser El Kady as saying in a meeting with the President. The strategy also includes goals to build 10 electronics factories, host five global data centres and build 10 technological areas besides the New Technology City in the New Administrative Capital by 2025.
