Maaden reports losses of SAR5.6 million in 4Q2015; BOD recommends not paying dividends for 2015
Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden)[1211.SE] has announced its 4Q2015 financial results showing losses of SAR5.6 million versus profits of SAR79 million in 3Q2015 and SAR375.9 million in 4Q2014. Gross profit for the period came in at 533.6 million (+1.8% Q-o-Q, -47.8% Y-o-Y), while operating profit was SAR181.5 million (-31.04% Q-o-Q, -70.2% Y-o-Y). The company attributed the weaker results on a quarterly basis to i) a decline in all product prices, apart from ammonia; ii) an increase in SG&A expenses; iii) an increase in Zakat provisions; as well as iv) an increase in losses from jointly held entities. Additionally, the company's BoD have recommended not paying dividends for 2015, given that the company is still in the process of developing and financing its major projects. (Tadawul)
