Gov’t agrees to set standard waste-to-energy feed-in tariff of EGP1.4/kWh
Unidentified sources told Al Mal that the Sherif Ismail Cabinet has reportedly agreed to set a standard waste-to-energy feed-in tariff of EGP1.40/kWh. The electricity and finance ministries apparently also reached an agreement that will see the former pay EGP1.03/kWh and the latter cover the remaining costs. The Cabinet will also grant governors the jurisdiction to raise the tariff by as much as 15% to offset transportation costs within the governorate, if need be, the sources claimed.
